Kendall Minter

Obituary of Kendall Minter

Kendall Minter, 79, of Amarillo died Wednesday, April 6, 2016.
Memorial services were held at 6 p.m. Friday April 22nd in Southwest Church of Christ, 4515 Cornell St., in Amarillo with Brother Mark Love officiating. Burial was in National Cemetery in Bakersfield, Calif. Arrangements were by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.
Mr. Minter was born Oct. 10. 1936 in Wellsburgh, W. Va. He served in the Army from June 5, 1956, to April 11, 1958.
Survivors include a daughter, Hestine Marie Minter of Amarillo; a son, Simen Burrvel Jr. of Bakersfield, Calif.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Sharon Gilbreath

Obituary of Sharon Gilbreath

Sharon Gilbreath, 54, died Friday, May 6, 2016.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday May 14th at St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Harris, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements were by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.
Sharon was born June 17, 1961, in Amarillo. She attended Lee Bivins Elementary School, Austin Middle School and was a 1979 graduate of Tascosa High School. She later attended Amarillo College.
Sharon was employed with Anderson Merchandisers. She was a faithful member of St. John Baptist Church, serving under Pastor Grover Neal and Anthony B. Harris.
Survivors include two sons, Antwan Gilbreath and Adrian Gilbreath and Nadia Hernandez, all of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Zaria Jeter, Antwn Gilbreath Jr., Adrain Gilbreath Jr., London Gilbreath and Esme Gilbreath, all of Amarillo; her brothers, Aaron Gilbreath and wife Ruby of Amarillo, David Gilbreath and wife Anke of Neunkirchen, Germany, and Dwight Cleveland of Amarillo; her sisters, Sandra Gilbreath of Amarillo, Lynette Gilbreath of Amarillo and Ja’Nice Gilbreath of Houston; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Thelma Johnson

Obituary of Thelma B. Johnson

Thelma B. Johnson, 108, of Amarillo died Friday, April 29, 2016.
Services were held  at 1 p.m. Thursday May 5th at Warford-Walker Mortuary Chapel with Monseigneur Rex Nicholl officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements were by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.
Thelma B. Johnson was born on March 8, 1908, in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She was a longtime resident of Amarillo for over 60 years. She was a member of the Saint Martin Catholic Church.
She is survived by distant cousins in Spencer, Oklahoma and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Donald Dunn

Obituary of Donald Dunn

Donald Dunn, 71, died Sunday, April 24, 2016.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday April 30th in Love Fellowship Church, 2501 S.W. Third Ave., with Bishop Warren Coble officiating. Arrangements were by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.
Mr. Dunn was born May 28, 1944, in Pampa. He was a veteran of the Army and received a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his
wife, Rayshall Dunn; and two brothers, Ronald Dunn of Amarillo and Thelmus Ray Dunn of Borger.

Lester Moore

Lester Moore, 89, of Amarillo died Sunday, May 15, 2016.
Services werer held at 11 a.m. Saturday may 21st at New Light Ministries with Bishop Richard Murray and Pator Eleanor Murray officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements were by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.
Mr. Lester Moore was born May 13, 1927, in Lincoln. He was an Amarillo resident for more than 60 years.
He was formerly employed with ASARCO and was a business owner for many years. He was a faithful member of New Light Ministries and an Army veteran.
Survivors include a son, Johnnie Ray Moore and wife Kelly of San Angelo; seven stepsons and stepdaughters; three brothers, Ruth Moore, Johnnie Moore and Omar Sharif; two grandsons, Johnny Ray Moore Jr. and Demarcus Moore and wife Tabitha; and six great-grandchildren.

Clarence Wright Sr., 75, of Amarillo died Wednesday, May 11, 2016.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday May 17th at Temple of Praise Community Church with Bishop Chris Brown, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements were by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.
Clarence Wright was born Aug. 5, 1940, in Shreveport, La. He was a retired boiler fireman. He was an Amarillo resident for more than 30 years.
Survivors include three children, Debby Blount and husband Kenyon, Kelvin Jerome Wright and Clarence L. Wright Jr. and wife Vanessa; five grandchildren, Patrick Ryan Miller and wife Deana Louise Miller, Kolby Jamal Blount, Brandy Eleanor Blount, Brianna Milan Wright, and Brooklin Mariah Wright; six siblings, Joseph, Louia Mae, Don, Terry, Nicky and CariAnn; along with a host of other loving family members and friends.

Ella Williams

Obituary of Ella Williams

Ella Williams, 62, died Monday, May 23, 2016.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday May 28th in Pentecostal Temple Church Of God in Christ with Elijah B. Demerson, pastor, and the Rev. Jeff Riles officiating and the Rev. Harry Williams as eulogist. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements were by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.
Ella Louise Williams was born May 17, 1954, in Milo, Okla., to Joe Ray Williams and Ruby Ladell Williams. She moved to Amarillo in 1958, where she later met and married her husband of 45 years, Harry James Williams.
She was a loving and devoted pastor’s wife and mother of four sons and two daughters. She was a member of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in Borger for 28 years. Most importantly, Ella was a woman of God; she was a virtuous woman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Ray Williams and Ruby Ladell Williams; her stepfather, Jeff Lee Riles Jr.; a brother, Robert Earl Liles; and a sister, Margaret Ann Riles.
Survivors include her husband, Harry James Williams; two daughters, Tavisha Morris and husband Bert and Katecha Cook and husband Dave, all of Amarillo; four sons, Harry James Williams Jr., Vedies Williams, Tremayne Williams and Montray Williams and wife Yvette, all of Amarillo; six brothers, Jeff Riles, James Riles and wife Phyllis, Floyd Riles and wife Verna, Godfrey Riles, Greg Riles and Richard Riles and wife Angela; five sisters, Shirley Riles, Hattie Carter and husband Lee, Kim Riles, Diana Roberts and husband Shawn and Angela Barnes and husband Kerry; 12
grandchildren; a great-
grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
